Carretel de oro 2017 I have been selected for the Korea Exhibition at the CICA Museum. At first, the news made me happy since it is a very important event. Then I started reading what they sent me, and I realized that although I would send my artwork at my own expense—which is extra money—there was a risk that when it arrived, the chief curator, who seems to have the final say, could deny this selection and return the artwork to wherever they deemed appropriate. In other words, all the money I spent on shipping could end up being wasted. I thought for a while about whether it was worth it, and since it happened right when I was moving, I decided not to participate unless the organizers explicitly requested it. We'll see what happens.
